As it happened the glue was quite strong and has sufficed so far without falling off and the mirror works fine providing the sky is quite dark so that the background stars can be seen in the mirror allowing the reflection of the red spot to be manoeuvred to the object that I wished to look at.
The photos show the mirror as it was intended to be used by the manufacturers, the brackets glued to the tube and the mirror in place as I intend it to be used, together with views through the mirror as it would be used for star alignment.
